Sunday Running Report: Slow and steady wins the race

wpid-img-20140618-01871_1.jpgThis week my plan was to achieve last week’s goal of four workouts.   I was doing really well until Wednesday when I had to slow down to let my icky stomach heal.  That was ok because I did not have yoga at Ti Kaye which meant I could run on Thursday. My body had other plans though.  I lay down for my nap on Thursday and instead of the regular 1 hour I woke up 4 hours later to a dark house.  I listened to my body and canceled the run.  I’m still happy with my progress so far.   Here’s what my training looked like this week:

Sunday: One hour run
Monday: 45 minute run, 30 minutes yoga
Tuesday: Swim twenty minutes
Wednesday: Sick
Thursday: Rest
Friday: Rest
Saturday: Rest

This week I plan to swim, use ice cups, and continue to run on the field instead of the road.

How do you know when your body needs more rest than usual?
