So you’ve taken up yoga. Maybe you just wanted a little stretch or a little relaxation, but now all these things are happening that you just didn’t expect. It’s ok. Stay calm, what you are experiencing is normal. Let’s take a look at some of the things you should expect.
Things that used to bother you don’t bother you anymore.
You don’t crave “junk food” as much.
You start telling people they need to try yoga.
You start reading yoga blogs.
You start reading yoga books.
Your friends start sending you yoga articles and asking questions about yoga.
You start thinking sweat is a good thing.
You bring your friends to yoga.
You invite grownups on playdates.
You become this person you never thought you would be and you like her.
What is the most unexpected change that you’ve experienced since you started practicing yoga?
I learned that I am a whole lot stronger than I thought I was. There were some poses that I never thought I’d be able to do that I could work myself into after only a few months of regular yoga practice! It’s so rewarding in so many ways.
Building strength is definitely not what immediately comes mind when you think of yoga but it happens almost unintentionally. I’m so happy that you’re growing in your practice
