Mindful Moga Mondays #1

Mindfulness is one of those words that you hear everywhere nowadays.  What is mindfulness and why should you practice it?

Mindfulness can be described as engaging in activity designed to help you attain calmness and peace. These can include yoga, tai chi and meditation.  Mindfulness requires you to slow down and focus on the present.  Any activity can become a mindfulness activity if you focus on the present and allow yourself to be completely immersed in that activity.  Anything from coloring to cleaning can be mindful when done with attention and focus.

Mindfulness is great because it leads to mental equanimity.  This means that we are better able to handle stressful situations without becoming overly stressed out.  When things get tough we can calmly thing through the situation and develop a response instead of having a quick reaction.

We can all be more mindful.  I want to see what you do to be mindful. Do you have any tips for mindfulness activities that work? Share them in my first ever Mindful Moga Mondays link party. Every first Monday of the month I will host mindful moga Monday.  You can tag me on your posts on social media or use the hashtags #mindfulmogamondays or #mogamondays.  I will select a few posts to feature next month. I can’t wait to see your ideas!!!

  1. I am looking forward to hearing the tips people share!

  2. I hope that sharing my book review is appropriate.

  3. I prefer meditation. Nothing calms me more than sitting outside on the swing, and just listening to the sounds of my farm. I can actually feel the stress rolling off in waves!

    1. that sounds so peaceful

  4. I know doing more yoga would help ease up my back so this linky may be the inspiration I need.

I would love to know your thoughts
