Happy New Year: Goals

2015 Vision BoardEver since I can remember I have been anti New Years resolutions. It just never made sense to me. It seemed if I wanted to change something I could start anytime during the year. However I have always set goals and had a five year plan. Now I set goals for the business and revise them every quarter. Since all the cool kids were doing it I decided I would also share my goals for 2015.

1.  Personal Goals (The driving force behind everything I do)
* Be love
* Live the life I want right now
* Run a successful yoga business
* Visit Europe
* Buy a car

The first two are really more like my rules for living more than goals but I added them to the list because I don’t want to forget them.  As a Christian I believe that God is love and that my sole responsibility is to represent that love. I want all my words and actions to come from a place of love. I think the world would be a much better place if we all acted only out of love. I try to respond to meanness with kindness. Sometimes I fail but I forgive myself because I love myself.

The second is my wish for everyone. So often I hear when I have X I will Y.  Recently someone told me that I should wait to travel after I buy a house. He firmly believed in the notion that one should find a spouse, settle down and buy some property before any “fun” things.  I believe that this path is not for everyone and if you wait until everything is perfect you will miss out.  Instead I live the life I want right now.  I go to the beach often and sometimes I treat myself to a nice lunch. The remaining goals are self explanatory.

  1. Some really good goals – and I think with big ones, we can’t set a time limit on them (to start or to finish). I have no doubt that you will accomplish all of them – in a time frame that works for you!

I would love to know your thoughts
